All staff at Wessex Primary School seek to put every child at the heart of the learning process and to provide a safe and secure learning environment.  They recognise that all children deserve the opportunity to achieve their full potential and the key outcomes for children’s well-being encapsulated in the Every Child Matters agenda.

These are to:

  • Stay safe
  • Be healthy
  • Enjoy and achieve
  • Make a positive contribution
  • Achieve economic well-being

Wessex Primary School recognises its responsibilities for Child Protection. We follow national and local Child Protection procedures (http://proceduresonline.com/berks/) and work together in partnership with other agencies/organisations that support children and families.

The Designated Officer for Child Protection at Wessex is Ann Leigh.

The Deputy Designated Officer is Nick Stevens who has the responsibility for the implementation of these procedures.
