We will be open as planned on Monday, 6th September at the usual time after a very busy Summer break. The re-wire of the lower school and nursery buildings is complete and the staff have worked incredibly hard to get everything back in place and ready for the children. The new building is also well under way, we have a brand new outside area for our Reception children and the new school environmental garden is also starting to look great. On arrival at school, children and parents will be directed to their new classrooms - 'left' for Green and Red classes and 'Right' for all other children, across the Upper School playground. We are really looking forward to the start to the new term and look forward to seeing you all back and ready to learn on Monday!

We have had a very eventful but enjoyable term and are all definitely in need of a well deserved holiday!

As I am sure you are aware we had a fantastic few weeks learning about space which was certainly enjoyed by all! We had alien eggs land in our classroom and predicted what we thought might be inside. We did lots of numeracy work based on the song 5 little men in a flying saucer and read all about how Princess Spaghetti had to rescue her dad who had been captured by aliens. We finished our topic off having received an invitation from our own alien to a party on the orange planet where we made ‘Saturn Cakes’ ‘Pluto Biscuits’ ‘Rocket Wing Sandwiches’ and ‘Jupiter Juice’ to take with us.

We have also looked at transport that travels along water and in the air. We read Mr Gumpy’s Outing to help us learn about addition and are counting the parachutists jumping out of the plane to help us with subtraction. We made some fantastic kites which we tested in the playground and found out that thin plastic and tissue paper created the best kites. Also during our air topic we had a fantastic P.E session using the parachute which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

We had a great day getting to know the new children that will be joining us after Easter and look forward to welcoming them into our base.

We hope you all have a lovely holiday and look forward to seeing everybody refreshed and ready for another exciting term after the Easter Holidays!
