We will be open as planned on Monday, 6th September at the usual time after a very busy Summer break. The re-wire of the lower school and nursery buildings is complete and the staff have worked incredibly hard to get everything back in place and ready for the children. The new building is also well under way, we have a brand new outside area for our Reception children and the new school environmental garden is also starting to look great. On arrival at school, children and parents will be directed to their new classrooms - 'left' for Green and Red classes and 'Right' for all other children, across the Upper School playground. We are really looking forward to the start to the new term and look forward to seeing you all back and ready to learn on Monday!

We have had an exciting start to our first term in Orange Base! We have made lots of new friends and are settling in well. This term we have been learning about transport and have been very busy thinking about how we can use different shapes to make transport pictures with stick and lick and printing and have made a terrific transport number line.

We have had a look at how rail has changed over the years and looked at some famous paintings by Monet. The children have even been on their very own trip upon the Imagination express painting and drawing pictures and writing about what they saw. We also read the ‘The Train Ride’ which inspired us to make our very own version which we recorded and made into a talking story via the interactive whiteboard.

Our topic has led us to looking at the Emergency services and the vehicles that are used to get to emergencies. We have turned our role play area into a fire station and learnt all about the importance of 999 calls. We have also learnt about the importance of road safety.

Our trip to the forest school had us learning in a completely new environment in which we began to take risks and take part in some new experiences (even the adults!). We had fun hugging trees, building dens, leading our blindfolded partner along a trail, drinking hot chocolate and toasting marshmallows on our very own fires which did prove rather tricky to keep alight! Following our fantastic trip to the Forest school we thought about how we travelled there and made our own version of the ‘wheels on the bus’.

We are currently learning about lots of different cultures during our Multicultural fortnight! We are continuing our topic of transport next term and have some very exciting things in store! So please pop back soon and see what we have been getting up to! Have a lovely holiday!
