Nursery
The Nursery children have made a fantastic start to the school year. Our new nursery children have settled in well and are enjoying all the exciting activities on offer.
We have been learning about some of the children’s favourite traditional tales this term, including, The Gingerbread Man, Goldilocks and The Three Billy Goats Gruff. The children enjoyed recreating The Three Billy Goats Gruff, especially when they got to play the part of the troll!
We have also read, Cinderella, and the children helped Mrs Jones make a castle in the role play area. They have all enjoyed dressing up as princes and princesses, writing invitations to the ball and making jewellery to wear. We are going to be having our very own Cinderella’s ball soon.
The children worked hard to learn songs to sing at our Harvest Festival in September. They all sung beautifully on the day and sat very well throughout the performance. Thank you very much for your kind donations. Some of the children visited Brill House to deliver the food donated. The children sung the harvest songs to the residents. The residents look forward to the children’s visit every year. They have asked us to visit them again in December to share Christmas songs with them.
We have had some lovely weather this term and have taken full advantage of being able to use our outside space. We venture out in all weather, but the extra sunny days and warmer than average temperatures have allowed us to spend more time outside.
We would also like to say thank you to all the parent’s helpers who have been in this term. The children have been able to do cooking at least once a week. They have made a variety of delicious foods to try or take home, including fairy cakes, scones, pizza, biscuits and jam tarts.
