We will be open as planned on Monday, 6th September at the usual time after a very busy Summer break. The re-wire of the lower school and nursery buildings is complete and the staff have worked incredibly hard to get everything back in place and ready for the children. The new building is also well under way, we have a brand new outside area for our Reception children and the new school environmental garden is also starting to look great. On arrival at school, children and parents will be directed to their new classrooms - 'left' for Green and Red classes and 'Right' for all other children, across the Upper School playground. We are really looking forward to the start to the new term and look forward to seeing you all back and ready to learn on Monday!

It only feels like yesterday that we were starting term 5 at Wessex and here we are nearly at the end of another very busy few weeks of school!

Some children have had an even shorter term – they were stuck in various countries around the world due to the volcanic eruption in Iceland. However, luckily (or unlukily!) they made it back in time for our SATs tests!

Everyone worked really hard for the tests and did some super revision. All the adults at Wessex are very proud of how mature and sensible the children were throughout the week – they did us proud! The children celebrated in style with an ‘end of SATs’ party in Year 6 with lots of music, snacks, dancing and even a bit of limbo!

We have also found time this term for lots of other work – our Pop Art sculptures are now finished, we’re researching mountains and volcanoes and have enjoyed the kwik cricket tournament and lots of rounders matches.

We’re looking forward to Term 6 and our end of year production, Olivia!

See you there.
