Class 5C - Term 1
In 5C in we have been doing some role play being evacuees in World War Two. Both Year 5 classes worked together. Mrs Doman and Mrs Russell have come in to talk to us about their childhood in World War Two. Mrs Russell was from Germany and Mrs Doman was from England.
We also went to Waltham Place. We got to taste a pudding, that they use to have in WW2 which was called apple delight. Also we got to dig for victory which was hard work! We had to take back a ration sheet with three war time recipes on. The other puddings were called Cheesy pudding pie and Carrot fudge Cubes. We are not sure if we liked them or not!
In Art we have been looking at Escher, tessellating shapes.
In I.C.T we have been going on Power Point and making presentations. We have been looking at backgrounds and clipart.

Welcome to 5C! We have already been very busy!
In Literacy we have been reading, writing and following instructions. We went to Cox Green and made Gingerbread people which was great fun. Mrs Corbett was so impressed with us that she said she will take us back again soon!

This term we are learning about why World War Two began and what it would have been like to have been 10 years old during that time. We are looking forward to our visitor coming in who lived in Maidenhead during World War Two and was evacuated. We are also looking forward to learning the Lindyhop!!
In science we are learning how to keep healthy and are all keeping food diaries! We have asked Mr Stevens and Mrs Maskell to keep one too so watch this space to see if they are eating a balanced diet!
