We will be open as planned on Monday, 6th September at the usual time after a very busy Summer break. The re-wire of the lower school and nursery buildings is complete and the staff have worked incredibly hard to get everything back in place and ready for the children. The new building is also well under way, we have a brand new outside area for our Reception children and the new school environmental garden is also starting to look great. On arrival at school, children and parents will be directed to their new classrooms - 'left' for Green and Red classes and 'Right' for all other children, across the Upper School playground. We are really looking forward to the start to the new term and look forward to seeing you all back and ready to learn on Monday!

The last few weeks have been particularly busy for 4P. Last week we designed and created Money Containers in Design Technology. We looked at range of different types of money containers, such as wallets, purses and money belts and then designed our own. We practised stitches that we already knew and also learned some new ones!

In Geography we have been learning about the rainforest and environmental issues. We found out lots of interesting facts about the rainforest, including some resources that we can get from the rainforest and the effects of deforestation. On Monday this week we had a fantastic day trip to The Living Rainforest at Newbury when we were able to experience what it would be like in a real rainforest. It was very hot and humid and we were able to see some fascinating animals such as an anaconda, a basilisk lizard, Goeldi monkeys, turtles, a tarantula spider, a dwarf crocodile and a pair of agoutis (which are related to guinea pigs). We enjoyed ducking under large and impressive leaves as we made our way through the rainforest, whilst being dripped on from above – just like it might if we really were in the Amazon rainforest!

We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and New Year.
