Our Coats of Arms were finally fired in the kiln and we are extremely pleased with the results.  A big THANK YOU to Mr Porter for his time and care with this – it was very much appreciated.  I am sure you will agree that the finished results were well worth the wait and they are now all on display outside the Year 4 classrooms.  Please feel free to come and have look.

To finish our display we also painted designed and painted crests on fabric, using fabric paints.  We had to hang them out to dry, but they are now also on display outside the Year 4 classrooms.

We also used the Tudor theme to design and create a circuit board game in Design & Technology.  We made up questions and answers to include in our games which included several topics on the Tudors; Henry’s 6 wives, Tudor homes, Tudor food and Tudor clothes.  We were lucky to have some parents during Parents in School Day to come and help.  We used our knowledge and skills from our Science lessons on Circuits and Conductors to help us construct our games.  We are now looking forward to playing with them!

Last week we enjoyed a fantastic day at the Windsor Crown Estate for the bi-annual open day for schools.  We learned about the different departments that look after and care for the park.  We did lots of walking, had lots of fun and saw some really interesting things including, deer control, gun dogs, tree felling, thatching, window glazing, and sign writing, not to mention some very cute baby animals!!!
