Class 4E - Term 2
On December 7th Year 4 visited the ‘Living Rainforest’, near Newbury. It was a very enjoyable day, despite the awful rainy weather and the need to make a detour because of a traffic jam on the M4.
But rather than me explain the activities of the day I have included two recounts of the day written by the children as part of their Literacy lessons.
In D&T this term the children in Year 4 have made Money Containers. This has involved them looking at the features of different types of adult and children’s purses and wallets. After they designed, made a mock up and finally created an end product of their own. Some of the photographs below show the various stages of this process in 4E.
On 11th November at 11:00 4E, along with the rest of the children, staff and some guests, gathered around the flag pole at the front of the school. We had two minutes silence to show our respect for those who lost their lives in both World War I and II and also in more recent wars.
The children in 4E each made a red cardboard poppy and the poppies were then fixed to a wreath and covered in cellophane by Mrs Vee. A photograph of our wreath is below.
4E also had a supply teacher, Miss Harley for one afternoon. The children we very excited, but listened carefully while Miss Harley explained and demonstrated how to make a Christmas card.
