Class 3O - Term 4
In ICT this term the children have been making very impressive power point presentations that beautifully illustrate their lives. They have imported pictures from the internet, made their words move on their own created motion path, changed the colours of their slides and added sounds too!
In PE we have teamed up with 3L to learn a street dance, to the tune of ‘4 minutes to save the world’, by Madonna. We have some talented dancers in Year 3!
Despite the winter weather we have also enjoyed playing netball and hockey outside and are getting good at controlling, passing and stopping the ball using a hockey stick.
In Maths we have been collecting data and then using the data to make pictograms and bar charts. Here is a photograph of Dylan finishing off his very professional pictogram, where he has remembered to add a pictogram title, and title his horizontal and vertical axes. He drew one picture to equal 2 children, and drew a key so that people would understand his figures. We were trying to find out what after school clubs Year 3 would like the best – and Dylan found out that tennis was the favourite…watch this space for the next after school club!

We enjoyed our visit to Cox Green for a morning of multi sports activities, where some of the children had their first attempt at volleyball and tried a mixture of other games.

The children are thoroughly enjoying our Design and Technology project this term. We have been investigating the designs of photo frames to see how the photos slot in, how the frames stand up and how they have been decorated. We have also worked in teams to make stable structures using lego, k’nex and wooden blocks.

We are looking forward to our class trip to Waltham Place Organic Farm on Tuesday 20th April where we will be looking at the ways in which the gardeners use soil to grow their fruit and vegetables. It will also be a fabulous introduction to our new Spring time science topic, ‘Helping Plants Grow Well’.
