The end of the year has arrived and the class are now ready for an exciting time in year 4. Before they all move on though we thought we’d share some of the learning we have done this term.

We had a design and technology week where we mixed our science topic of healthy eating with designing to invent our own healthy sandwiches. The combinations the children produced were very carefully thought out to make sure they were as healthy as possible. They then had a lovely time eating them!

We learnt about how to look after our teeth and were very lucky to have a dentist Mrs Russell come to the class  to teach the children about brushing properly and preventing tooth decay. Some of the children used disclosure tablets to see the plaque on their teeth and had a big surprise!

We had a brilliant time early in the term at an athletics event at Cox Green where the children competed against 6 other schools in various events. We came fourth in the end.

We also went to a language extravaganza held at Cox Green in June where the whole of the year group sang a French song “les couleurs” in a performance on the stage in front of about 200 children. They sang unaccompanied and beautifully and made their teachers very proud! Some of the year 5 children have also been teaching us German this term.

All in all it has been a fantastic year and all of the children have worked so hard in their learning and had a great time too. On behalf of everyone in year 3 we hope you have a lovely summer.
