Welcome to Purple Class

Spring Term in Purple Class

This term we have used the story of Fergus the Farmyard Dog to link our Science, DT and Literacy work together. We read a play script of the story. Some children were narrators and read the story whilst everyone else acted it out. We made swings like the Farmer Bob’s. We enjoyed presenting the story to our parents in our class assembly.

In maths we have been very practical, using sand and water to measure and solve problems.

We have made our own games and played them with our friends.

On Pancake Day we weighed out the ingredients and made pancakes. They were yummy!

We had a new teacher for the afternoon. Sophie Mundy from Year 3 came to teach us maths. We had  a quiz about shapes and played some maths games on the computer.

In history we have found out about toys and games from when our parents and grandparents were children.

We played some traditional playground games like ‘In and out the dusty bluebells and ‘Ring-o-ring-a-roses’.

Other highlights from the Spring Term have been

-         A visit from the fire service and a chance to climb in the fire engine.

-         A visit from a poet and acting out stories with him.

-         Global Citizenship Week and making our own hats.

-         Red Nose Day and buying cakes to eat in the classroom!
