Blue Class - Y1
Term 1
Welcome to the Blue Class page.
We have all settled into Year One life really well and everyone is working really hard.
This term we are learning about ourselves and our school grounds. We have read a poem called ‘I like’ which is all about our senses and we are going to make our own version of the poem in the next few weeks, so keep checking back to see some of our super work. We used the ‘I like’ poem to write our class harvest poem that we will recite to the parents during our Harvest Festival on Tuesday 5th October.
I like
I like the taste of tangy tomatoes tingling on my tongue,
I like the smell of sweet strawberries wafting through the window,
I like the sound of tall trees waving in the wind,
I like the sight of the colourful combine harvester collecting the corn,
I like the feel of rain running through my fidgety fingers,
I like Harvest time.

We have also had a special guest join us, Spot the dog decided he would like to bury his bone in our school grounds. We have been out and about in the school grounds to find the best place for him to bury his bone. Below are some pictures of the places we visited. Can you guess where we found him? Why do you think this would be the best place?
We drew maps of our route around the school, all of the children worked incredibly hard to make their maps as clear as possible.
While Spot was visiting us, he decided that he would like to help the builders and the electricians who are working on our new link building. He was very good at being an electrician and was a very tidy workman!
